Let’s get started!
I see a lot of people, particularly on Twitter, mentioning their pet peeves in books, or tropes that they’ve seen so much, they can’t stand the sight of it one more time. And usually, though I understand where they’re coming from, I 100% disagree!
So, here are some of my most unpopular opinions!
Last week, I talked about my 5 most traumatic character deaths, the ones that left me in a weeping heap of emotions that made me want to both never read a book again, but also read every single book by that author because HOW CAN PAPER AND INK MAKE ME FEEL SO MUCH?!
And while I definitely appreciate those well- written deaths, there have been some character deaths that have been… well, less than gut-wrenching. For whatever reason, whether the character or her arc weren’t developed enough, or it was just made to feel like a cheap, meaningless death, these deaths just left me wanting more (more what? More death? Better death??? What does this say about me?).
So, without further ado, here are my 5 most disappointing character deaths.
If I’m being 100% honest, I love a well-written character death. If a book can make me cry, I immediately love it so much more. And I’ve read plenty of books that had me crying myself to sleep because OH MY LANTA, HOW CAN YOU PUT A CHARACTER THROUGH THAT KIND OF PAIN?!?!
And because I don’t want to be alone in my pain, I thought I’d share the 5 most painful character deaths, and remind you guys of all the pain, too! BWAHAHAHA!!
Also, it probably goes without saying, but there are probably gonna be some spoilers in this post.
