Hi everyone! I appreciate the fact that you’re taking a moment to check out my review policy! Unfortunately, I’m a little swamped at the moment, so I am currently not taking any review requests. If and when this changes, I’ll let you all know!
I am always happy to consider reviewing a book here on Ryann the Reader. All I ask in return is that you read the following, because asking me to review any book assumes you have read and agree to these terms:
First and foremost, please use the contact information at the bottom of this page to request a review. The comment section is a place for discussion, not review requests.
All of my reviews will be honest. If I dislike a book, I will write a review that respectfully, but specifically, details what about the book I did not like. Even if I did not like a book, I will still point out its positive aspects, but, on the whole, the review may still be negative. (More on how I write negative reviews here.)
I reserve the right to not finish a book I accept for review, though I will still review it even if I put it down unfinished.
In all reviews, I will indicate how I got access to the book, whether it was via the publisher, the author, Netgalley, or a book distributor, near the top of the review.
When I receive an advanced copy of a book for review, I will do my best to post my review within one week of the publication date, unless a date is otherwise specified.
What I Read:
While I am always trying to expand my literary horizons, there are a few genres that are my go-tos when on the hunt for new books. These include:
- Young Adult Fiction
- Historical Fiction
I do accept self-published books for review. In your request, please make a note that the book is self-published.
While these genres are my favorites, I may also accept others for review on my blog.
What I Won’t (Usually) Read:
This list is not set in stone; you are welcome to ask me to review any genre. This list is mostly so that those requesting reviews know which books I am most likely to accept, and can decide whether or not to look for another reviewer. That being said, the genres I will usually turn down include:
Print format is my most preferred, but I will accept e-books in any format compatible with Kindle, iPad, or Android devices, however, I do not accept audiobooks at this time.
The best way to contact me is through my contact page on this site, or by contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I will respond to all review requests, regardless of whether or not I am interested.
