The Disney Channel Halloween Movies Tag!

I have to be honest here: I love doing tags, but I never had access to Disney Channel growing up, so I don’t know anything about most of these movies (I know, it’s heart-breaking). But with Halloween being here in a week, I knew it was still the perfect tag to give me the Halloween-y feels! Thanks to the radiant Rendz @ Reading with Rendz for tagging me!

The Questions:

Halloweentown:

Where is your favorite place to go for Halloween, or a place you want to go?

Honestly, I love staying home for Halloween. I know it’s kinda boring, but it gets so cold around here by then that I just wanna stay burrito-ed in a blanket. Plus my awesome friend Tricia and I are gonna be having our annual rewatch of a movie called “Tucker and Dale vs Evil” on Halloween this year, so it’s gonna be pretty cool!

Under Wraps:

What’s something that used to be scary to you and then you realized it wasn’t just the mummy in this movie?

Oook, so I have this teddy bear that my grandparents gave me, and when I was younger, my parents would never let me touch it because it’s an antique bear made with real fur. BUT THEY DIDN’T TELL ME THAT WAS THE REASON!! So little Ryann had practically convinced herself that it was some sort of haunted magic bear, so I would just kind of avoid it. Until I had a nightmare where it learned how to fly, chased me around my whole house, and swallowed my older brother whole. For years after that, I was convinced that it was pulling a Toy Story, just waiting till I was asleep or gone to go about it’s business. When I went to bed, I would stare at it until I fell asleep, just to be sure it hadn’t really moved a little.

Tower of Terror:

What is the scariest place you’ve ever been?

I do my best to avoid scary places. If I had to pick a place, I guess I’d say this house I used to dogsit. It was very much like a stereotypical haunted house: small, but kind of old, so everything was already creaky. Then there was a storm one night, and a tree was close enough to scrape on the side of the house. So I was just kind of stuck in this place, with creepy sounds, and an hysterical dog, doing my best to stay calm. It was not my best night…

Twitches:

If you could be any supernatural creature, what would you be?

Oh gosh, there are so many to choose from! I’ll go with a nymph or sprite. I’d get to have magic, and I’d like the idea of being super connected with nature, and not really good or evil.

Don’t Look Under the Bed:

Were you scared of monsters when you were a kid? When did it stop?

Kind of? I wasn’t really afraid of monsters in my closet or anything, unless I had to get up in the middle of the night. Then I wasn’t afraid of a whole monster as much as I was afraid of hands. I was convinced that something would try to grab my ankles if I got up to pee any time after midnight.

I don’t really know when it stopped. I just kept reminding myself that nothing was going to grab me, and forced myself to calmly walk to my bed instead of trying to jump to it from the doorway. Eventually, it stopped being so scary.

Phantom of the Megaplex:

Do you watch scary movies? If so, what is your favorite or the one you got most afraid of?

NOOOOOOOOOPE. I really don’t like to be afraid, and I’m the sort of person who will keep a scary things in my head so I can be scared for daaaays.

FOR EXAMPLE, I watched Lord of the Rings when I was nine. It’s not even a scary movie, but the part where Gollum just takes a little nibble off Frodo’s finger to get the Ring? It got to me. For THREE YEARS, I slept with my hand tucked firmly under my body so that IF Gollum somehow managed to find his way to my room, he had no way to get at my fingers.

If I couldn’t even handle that, there’s no way I’d be able to deal with actually scary movies.

The Scream Team:

Who would be on your dream team if you went on a ghost/supernatural creature hunt?

I would definitely want Inej Ghafa on my team, cuz she can handle anything and would always have your back. And I’d probably take Vasya from The Bear and the Nightingale, because she has a way with supernatural creatures.

Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire:

Have you ever witnessed something/someone that could only be explained by the paranormal? If yes, what/who?

I don’t think I have… Sorry, no interesting stories today!
