Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had fun bringing in 2018! I’m sending you all my best wishes for the new year!
My 2018 reading goal is set, new blog ideas are running rampant in my head, and I’ve already gotten a head start on January posts (let’s see how long it lasts!)
But before I get too far ahead of myself, here are the highlights of what happened here at Ryann the Reader during the last month of 2017!
This month I only had one new read, and I haven’t even written up my review, yet. December got a little crazy for me, so I ended up doing quite a bit of rereading.
I’m not sure why I was in such a rereading mood, but these are the books that got me through the month.
This Month’s Fave:
And not just because it was my only new read of the month! I won’t be able to post my review until next week, but I absolutely loved this poetry collection, it went right from my hand to my “favorites” shelf.
- The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden- ★★★★★
I’ve already started all of these (why do I do this to myself?) so it’s a pretty safe bet that these are the books I’ll finish in January!
Updates on the Reader:
The script I was working on all during November was finally put into action, and for the most part, it went really well! The kids enjoyed it, and were surprised by the twist ending, and I think our actors had a lot of fun!
We also had a small health scare with my uncle, but the doctors think they found the problem before it caused any permanent damage, so we’re still in high spirits.
Other than that, it’s been a pretty standard Christmas: lots of snow, dog cuddles and family games. We almost broke our dining room table playing Spoons.
I hope you all had awesome holidays, too! And I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store!
Thanks for reading!
