Top 5 Books That Have Been on my TBR the Longest

Happy Tuesday all you awesome people! Last week was a little crazy, so I missed Top 5 Tuesday (again!) hosted by the amazing Shanah @ Bionic Bookworm, but now I’m back! This week’s Top 5 Topic is books that have been on my TBR the longest.

All of the books on this list have been on my TBR for well over a year, and these are the ones on my TBR that I want to get to soonest. To be honest, I’m not proud of a few of these; some of them are books I probably should have read ages ago! But I’m sure I’ll get to them… eventually.

Without any further ado, here are some of the manymanymany books on my TBR.

5- Grave Mercy- by Robin LaFevers

Grave Mercy

Grave Mercy is one of the first ten books I ever added to my Goodreads TBR. I mean, c’mon. There’s a lady with a crossbow on the cover. Who doesn’t want to read a book about a lady with a crossbow?

4- Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch

Snow Like Ashes

I love the title and the cover and the synopsis of this book. I’ve held this book in my hands countless times at the bookstore, but always ended up going with something else instead. One day, I will read this series… probably.

3- Today Means Amen by Sierra DeMulder

Today Means Amen

I’m not 100% sure why I haven’t read this book yet. I’ve seen a lot of Sierra DeMulder’s poems on YouTube, so I really think I’d enjoy her book, but I’ve never gone out of my way to get it.

2- The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon

Bird and the Sword

I actually have this book on my Kindle, I just haven’t actually read it yet, and, once again, I’m not sure why? Every time I read the synopsis, it makes me want to read it all over again. I’m really hoping to get to this book by the end of this year!

1- Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

Rebel in the Sands

One of my best friends bought me this book, and it has such a beautiful cover and it’s about a gunslinger WOC so why wouldn’t I have jumped on this ages ago?! I’m honestly not sure, but it’s another one I’m hoping to get to before the end of the year!

Thanks for reading! Don’t forget to check out Shanah’s Top 5 Tuesday Post!

What are some books that have been on your TBR the longest? Are any of these books on you TBR? Would you recommend any of these as my next read? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Grave Mercy seems interesting and I really wanna read Snow Like Ashes!
I’ve never heard of The Bird and the Sword but I definitely will check it out.
I really enjoyed Rebel of the Sands. They are really cool, altough the books seems to chaneg quite a lot form one to the other. For me it’s not a 5 starts read but It’s adicting and I’m currently reading the third one 🙂
    Hope you enjoy them!

  2. I know I’ve seen the cover of Grave Mercy before (and maybe Snow Like Ashes, too), but the only one of these books I’d really heard of before was Rebel of the Sands. Saw a glowing review for that one. Think I also heard some brouhaha over it being offensive to some people. If and when you read it, I’ll be curious to see what you think!

      • I couldn’t tell you too much about it. I just saw that she’d originally given it a 5-star review, and glowed about how wonderful it was. Then she learned that had offensive representations of middle-eastern culture, and so she dropped the review to 1 star, but left up her original review for transparency’s sake.
