Well, guys, it’s officially October. And while the scenery around here is reaching its finest, it’s also starting to get SO COLD! I went to watch my cousin race yesterday, and could not stop shivering! Luckily, that means more excuses to curl up with a book and some tea! It also means it’s time to wrap up the first month of the school year, and let you guys know what went on around here during the month of September!
So let’s get to it!
First Time Reads:
I felt a little bad for not finishing this book, but I just could not get into it. I thought she used some great poetic techniques, but I think the poems could have been arranged much better. The third(ish) poem was three pages long, and when you’re still trying to warm up to a new poet’s style and voice, that can be a bit much, and it started the decline into the DNF.
“But Ryann!! You didn’t list this one in the books you finished this month!” That’s because I haven’t finished it just yet. I only have about 10% of the book left, but I’m stuck in that all-too-familiar limbo of loving this book so much that I don’t want it to end, so here we are! Even though I haven’t finished it just yet, this is the book I’ve most enjoyed reading this month, so it still gets to go here.

Tags and Awards:
Oh my gosh I’m so behind on tags and awards I’m so sorry!
These are the ones I know I’ll get through (or ones I’m already most of the way through)! I may add a few more depending on how quick I read!
Non-Bookish Updates on the Reader:
So, I don’t know what happened to me, but in the middle of this month, I was just down. My allergies were acting up, but beyond that, there really is no explanation for why I was so mentally and emotionally exhausted? So I only managed to get through two books I meant to review, and instead read some old favorites to try to lift my spirits. And it worked! I’m back to my happy, perky self!
In keeping with that happiness, my strawberry plants gave me some strawberries!!! I have an herb garden in my backyard, and I LOOOOVE strawberries, so when I saw these poor plants dying at the store near the end of the season, I scooped them right up, thinking I’d nurse them back to health add them to my garden, and get some berries from them next year. But they ended up surprising me with about 20 berries in the past couple weeks, and that’s not even counting all the ones the stupid chipmunk ate!
So, all in all, I’d count September a pretty productive month, and I can’t wait to see what spooky things October has in store!
Thanks for reading!
